Harvey Wrestling Runners-Up, Places Second at Rebel Invite

The Harvey wrestlers delivered an outstanding team performance, finishing second overall out of 17 teams in a highly competitive tournament field. The Red Raiders accumulated 191.5 team points, narrowly trailing champion Berea Midpark, and finishing ahead of several established programs — a strong statement from a young but determined squad.
While Harvey did not claim an individual championship, the tournament told a much bigger story: depth, consistency, and collective effort. The Red Raiders advanced three wrestlers to the finals, earned numerous top-five finishes, and saw nearly the entire lineup place, proving that team success is built on contribution from every weight class.
Leading the way were Joseph Moree (120), Elijah Hall (215), and Marvin Guerra (285), each finishing as individual runner-up in their respective brackets after battling through deep and demanding fields.
Just behind them, Harvey posted an impressive string of fourth-place finishes, with Josue Gutierrez Martinez (126), Amari Montgomery (144), Javier Ramirez (157), Yariel Torres (165), and Recardo Lewis (175) all wrestling deep into medal rounds and contributing critical team points.
Additional top-five finishes from Demetrius Clark (132), Jayden Farren (138), and Brijon Poole (190) further reinforced the Red Raiders’ depth and balance across the lineup.
Beyond placements, Harvey’s ability to score bonus points and finish matches stood out, as multiple wrestlers earned victories by fall — an encouraging sign of a team gaining confidence and learning how to impose its will in tournament settings.
“This was a great test for us,” the coaching staff said. “We’re young, we’re hungry, and we’re learning how to wrestle through long days. When almost every weight class is scoring points, that’s how you build a championship-caliber program.”
With a second-place team finish, three finalists, and a lineup full of top-five performers, Harvey Wrestling continues to show that the foundation is strong — and the ceiling is still rising.
