Led by two strong upperweight finalists, the Harvey Lady Raiders stepped into one of the toughest sectional tournaments in Northeast Ohio on Sunday at Euclid. When the dust settled, the Lady Raiders finished 6th out of 24 teams — stacking points all day and proving this program is moving in the right direction.

Giselle Moreno Dominates

At 190, Giselle Moreno didn’t leave much to debate.
She powered through her bracket and pinned her way to a sectional championship, controlling matches from start to finish. Giselle had two pins on the day and has positioned herself well for next week.

Turner Takes Silver

At 170, Sophia Turner battled her way to the finals and finished as sectional runner-up. Tough in tie-ups. Smart in position. Calm under pressure. Sophia wrestled like someone who expects to be there this time of year. She continues to level-up her strategy and looks to be ready for the next challenge.

Nila Hits the Podium

At 100, Nataly Nila wrestled her way to a 3rd-place finish, pinning her opponent in the 3/4 place match.

Placing 6th and adding valuable team points:
Alliyah Arebalo Pulido and Amy Arias.

Next Stop: Mentor Districts

Next Sunday, the Lady Luchas head to Mentor Districts, where Sophia Turner, Nataly Nila, and Giselle Moreno will compete for a spot at the State Tournament. Good luck ladies!
