Raiders Battle at Division I Sectional - Three Advance to Districts

The Harvey Red Raiders competed in one of the toughest Division I sectional tournaments in the state this weekend at Euclid High School — and they battled all day.

When the dust settled, three Raiders punched their tickets to next week’s district tournament at Wadsworth High School with runner-up finishes.

175 – Ricky Lewis
Ricky wrestled his way to the sectional finals with poise and toughness, finishing 2nd in a loaded weight class.

285 – Marvin Guerra
Marvin powered his way through the bracket, pinning his way into the finals before finishing as sectional runner-up.

215 – Elijah Hall
Elijah delivered one of the performances of the day. In the semifinals, he avenged an earlier season loss to his Euclid opponent in a gritty, high-level match. Hall went on to finish 2nd, earning his spot at districts.

126 – Rylin Davis

Rylin battled back to place 5th and secure a district alternate position.

120 – Josue Gutierrez
Josue concluded his Harvey wrestling career with a 6th-place finish, competing with heart in a tough bracket.

144 - Amari Montgomery
Amari also placed 6th, finishing just one match shy of district qualification.

In a solid Division I field, Harvey finished 8th overall, just one point behind St. Ignatius in the team standings.
